Ann Bowen, LMFT, LPC, NCC
Ann is a licensed therapist for individuals, couples and families. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), she works with couples in marriage counseling, conflict resolution, marriage and family communication skills, and relationship challenges. Ann also works with families on parenting skills, ADHD within the family unit, blended families, and life transitions. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), she works with individuals in anger and stress management, anxiety, depression, grief, identity development, and spiritual issues. Philosophically, Ann believes counseling begins with a safe and collaborative relationship between therapist and client. Her position as a counselor is to help the client identify areas of concern; empathically investigate causes and origins of behaviors that may maintain unhealthy patterns; teach constructive coping skills; suggest strategies for empowering life patterns; and assist in identity development. She believes in the power of relationships and enjoys working with clients to develop strong and meaningful connections in their lives.
Ann earned her MA in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where she graduated with honors. She is also a member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Counseling. Ann is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Prior to a counseling career, she worked for a major corporation as an Industrial Engineer and also co-owns and operates a small business. She feels her varied experiences have enriched her ability to understand situations clients often face and to help them navigate to health.
